Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu hosted a receptionfor visiting Lao Justice Minister Xaysi Santivong in Hanoi on December 11.

Luu lauded the visitof the Lao delegation as contributing to enhancing the cooperation between thetwo justice ministries.

He expressed delightat the comprehensive achievements of Laos over the past years, as well as the growthof traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive partnershipbetween the Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

Hailing the outcomesof talks between the Lao delegation and its Vietnamese counterpart, Luuexpressed his belief that the two ministries will continue fostering collaborationin an effective manner.

He suggested that thetwo ministries continue supporting each other in building legal documents, personneltraining, law popularization and education, and sharing experience in mutuallegal support.

The Lao guest thankedthe Justice Ministry of Vietnam for assisting the Laos’ Justice Ministry,especially through the sending of officials to Laos to help in drafting anumber of bills.

In 2018, the twoministries have surpassed targets in their cooperation agreement for the year.Vietnam has offered Laos an ODA project in justice, the first that Vietnam hasgranted to Laos, he noted.

The Lao ministeraffirmed that his ministry will coordinate closely with the Justice Ministry ofVietnam in realising cooperation agreements reached between the two sides.-VNA

This is PM Hung’s first official trip to Laos and Cambodia, reaffirming the high importance and priority that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam attach to relations with the two neighbouring countries.
