National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan suggested increasing exchanges between Vietnamese and Japanese legislatures during a working session with President of the House of Councillors of Japan Masaaki Yamazaki in Tokyo on August 26.
Ngan, who is visiting Japan from August 24-30, also asked for Japan’s continued supply of official development assistance to Vietnam, particularly in infrastructure and economic restructuring.
The guest hoped that Japan would continue receiving more Vietnamese trainees and nurses to study and work in the country .
In a meeting with President of the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Alliance Toshihiro Nika, the NA Vice Chairwoman expressed her appreciation for the alliance’s role in enhancing Vietnam – Japan relations.
Meeting Governor of Gunma prefecture Osawa Masaaki, the Vietnamese guest expressed her delight that Gunma is home to the fifth largest Vietnamese community in the country.
More than 3,000 Vietnamese are living in Gunma and 23 Gunma companies are operating in Vietnam, Governor Masaaki said.
Both sides agreed to intensify exchanges between Vietnamese NA and Japanese localities, including Gunma, while providing all possible support for the two business communities.-VNA
