Nam jumps to 871st in world rankings

Vietnamese tennis star Ly Hoang Nam jumped three slots to 871st in the latest world rankings on August 1.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese tennis star Ly Hoang Nam jumped three slots to 871st in the latest world rankings on August 1.

Nam, who won the Wimbledon boys’ doubles title, has 19 points in the rankings.

Nam lost to world number 439 Hong Seong Chan in the second round of the men’s singles at the Men’s Future F1 in the southern province of B i nh D uo ng last week, but Nam and his teammate Nguy e n Ho a ng Thi e n entered the event’s men’s doubles semi-finals.

Born in Tay Ninh Province, Nam is again close to getting the 870th rank, which he had gained in April, the best ever by a Vietnamese tennis player.-VNA
