Nation to launch own ‘Next Top Model' show

" Vietnam 's Next Top Model will not only be a 100-per-cent reality show with many exciting and surprising moments but should also open many opportunities for our modeling and fashion industry to catch up with international developments," said Multimedia general director Le Thi Quynh Trang. "We also hope to discover new Vietnamese modes who have what it takes to become a true top model."

America 's Next Top Model, which originally premiered on US television in 2003, is a popular annual talent search that chronicles the transformation of everyday young women into potentially fierce supermodels. Finalists receive training from high-profile fashion industry gurus and face tough challenges and eliminations before one realises her dreams of becoming a top model.

The programme concept has been licensed internationally, and there are now versions of the series in the UK , Germany , France , Italy , Canada , Australia , the Republic of Korea and China./.
