Hanoi (VNA) – The 57th meeting of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee wrapped up on June 15after one and a half days of sitting.

Closingthe meeting, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the committee completed all theset agenda by debating six issues and adopting one resolution on personnelwork.

Heasked relevant agencies and oranisations as well as individuals to, right afterthe meeting, promptly acquire ideas given at the meeting and conclusions ofthe NA Standing Committee on particular issue to complete a report to besubmitted to the 15th NA at its first plenary session.

Asscheduled, the 15th legislature will convene a preparatory meeting beforeopening the first plenary session on July 20, he noted, stressing that successfulorganising the session is the most important task.

Afterthe 57th meeting, the NA Standing Committee will sit for anothermeeting to finalise the remaining contents to be debated at the first plenary  sessionof the 15th NA, including issues related to five-year plans such asthose on socio-economic development, budget-finance, and middle-term publicinvestment.

TheGovernment has also proposed adding two national targets programmes onnew-style rural area building and sustainable poverty reduction and socialwelfare to the agenda of the upcoming session./.

16th NA’s first extraordinary session seeks to create new development space

The first phase ended with a five-day break from August 14-18, during which relevant agencies will urgently review, explain, and revise draft laws and resolutions. The NA is scheduled to resume the second phase from August 19-24 to vote on the legislation, with the aim of removing bottlenecks, unlocking resources and creating fresh momentum for national development.
