The Prime Minister on May 3 signed a decision to establish the national steering committee for sea and island healthcare.
The committee is headed by Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien while Deputy Minister of Defence Le Huu Duc is deputy head.
The committee is responsible for assisting the Government and Prime Minister to organise the implementation of the Party and Government’s major policies and solutions for the development of healthcare in the areas.
It will be allowed to mobilise forces and medical equipment in case of emergency.
It also plays the role of managing and supervising the implementation of the project on sea and island healthcare development until 2020.-VNA
