received financial support for surgery as of November this year since a
programme to call for donation to this group was launched in 2002.
The targeted children were supported with more than 500 billion VND (23.8 million USD) for surgery, said a workshop to review 10 years of the programme’s implementation that was held in Hanoi on December 9.
On this occasion, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and the Sunny Korea Foundation from the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding on financial support for Vietnamese children’s heart surgery from 2014 to 2020.
Accordingly, Sunny Korea will bring some 20 children with heart diseases to the RoK for surgery each year. The aid is worth approximately 17 million USD.-VNA
