At least 17 people were killed and 71 others had to be hospitalised after fire broke out at a karaoke bar in Manado city, the capital of North Sulawesi state of Indonesia on early October 25.
All the victims are Indonesian citizens.
The police said the fire broke out around 1 a.m on the second floor of the three-story building while hundreds of customers were enjoying singing in private rooms.
Many people were stuck amid black smoke in the second floor while others jumped out of the building through windows in panic. The building has only one door.
It took several hours for firefighters to extinguish the fire and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The initial investigation revealed short circuit as the possible reason of the fire.-VNA
Passenger airplane goes missing in Indonesia
A passenger plane of Aviastar Mandiri airline with 10 persons on board went missing in South Sulawesi province of Indonesia on October 2.
