Nearly 3.2 trillion VND raised for the poor

The year-long charity programme for the poor entitled “Noi Vong Tay Lon” (Joining the Great Fold), starting from Dec. 31, 2009, has received nearly 3.2 trillion VND from organisations and individuals both at home and abroad.
The year-long charity programme for the poor entitled “Noi Vong Tay Lon” (Joining the Great Fold), starting from Dec. 31, 2009, has received nearly 3.2 trillion VND from organisations and individuals both at home and abroad.

The programme was jointly held by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Television.

The proceeds include over 1 trillion VND in cash and more than 2 trillion VND in the form of donations to social welfare programmes in poor areas.

In 2010, the “Fund for the Poor” at central and grassroots levels also mobilised over 1.1 trillion VND.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front has used money from the “Fund for the Poor” and voluntary work to build and upgrade a total of 85,404 houses for the poor./.
