Hanoi (VNA) - The COVID-19 outbreak related to the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital in Hanoi had recorded 28 cases since the detection of the first one on September 30 to 11am on October 2, according to the Hanoi Department of Health.

Of them, 22 infections were reported in the capital city, three in Nam Dinh and one each in Hung Yen, Ha Tinh and Hai Duong.

Upon the detection of the new outbreak at the hospital, the municipal Centre for Disease Control has asked relevant agencies to conduct contact tracing in a bid to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

The Department of Medical Service Administration at the Ministry of Health has asked the hospital to apply COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

The hospital is collecting about 1,400 samples of people who travelled and worked at the building where the first COVID-19 patient was found.

It is also required to make a list of people having contact with the hospital’s medical workers infected with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 during September 19-30, as well as promptly build examination and treatment plans for those who are receiving care.

Since April 29, Hanoi has documented 3,999 COVID-19 cases, including 1,608 ones found in the community./.
