Nghe An announces Vinh City’s adjusted urban plan

Event participants included NationalAssembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, leaders of provincial authorisedbodies, and domestic and foreign investors.

According toSecretary of the provincial Party Committee Ho Duc Phoc, the plan willcover Vinh City, Cua Lo commune and parts of Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyendistricts.

Phoc highlighted that under the plan, the city will bedeveloped into a hub of finance, commerce, tourism, education-training,science-technology, healthcare, culture, sport, and high-tech industryin the north central region with population of up to 900,000 people in2030.

Accordingly, the city will be categorized into three urban development zones and one affiliated zone.

The central zone comprises of the current Vinh City and part of Hung Nguyen district, covering an area of 110.27 sq.km.

The current Cua Lo town, to be expanded to the west to cover 42sq.km, is another urban zone, and the third one comprises of Quan Hanhurban area and part of the South-East Economic Zone with a total area of25.37 sq.km.

The affiliated zone will serve as a cushion area among urban zones.

Nghe An will coordinate with relevant units to compile a list ofpriority development projects in Vinh City to attract capital, Phocadded.-VNA

Deputy PM asks for highest education quality, safety for students

Regarding the construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes, all 108 schools under Phase 1 opened for the 2026-2027 academic year, with 40 having completed all construction items. Sea turtle nests on Lam Dong's Hon Cau island for sixth time this year

Since the beginning of 2026, sea turtles have nested six times at three beaches on Hon Cau island, namely Nhat, Mui Tau and Ba Hon. Three nests were left undisturbed at safe locations, while another three were relocated to the incubation area for protection, involving a total of 246 eggs.
