Nghe An: meth trafficker from Laos arrested

Police in Nghi Loc district, the central province of Nghe An, have arrested a man who holds Lao citizenship for his trafficking of 3.3 kg of methamphetamine from Laos to Vietnam.

Nghe An (VNA) – Police in Nghi Locdistrict, the central province of Nghe An, have arrested a man who holds Laocitizenship for his trafficking of 3.3 kg of methamphetamine from Laos to Vietnam.

Pa Vu Mua, born in 1981, was caught redhanded in Nghe An’s Vinh City on June 3, with three packs of methamphetamineweighing 3.3 kg in his backpack.

Mua admitted he was hired by a man namedSung A Tinh to transport the drug for 500 USD in return.

He said he know his action is illegal buthe needs the money for a living, adding that he had yet to receive the paymentbefore being arrested.

Mua was born in Ky Son disitrict, Nghe An.In 2002, he obtained a Lao citizenship. He is a father of eight children.

The case is under investigation.-VNA

Hanoi waives public transport fares during Tet holiday

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services. The programme will apply to 128 subsidised routes citywide over the nine days, with passengers granted tickets according to route pricing but paying no fare.
