The central province of Nghe An on April 22 held a memorial and reburied the remains of 84 Vietnamese volunteers and specialists who laid down their lives on Laotian battlefields.

The remains were discovered and collected by special teams from Nghe An, Xieng Khouang and Vientiane in Laos , in collaboration with other teams under the Nghe An provincial Military Command during 2011-2012.

Over the past 28 years, the provincial Military Command has found the remains of over 12,000 Vietnamese soldiers and have laid them to rest in martyrs cemeteries in Anh Son and Do Luong districts.

Of them, only nearly 800 have been identified.-VNA
