The famous Australian public speaker Nick Vujicic, who was born without limbs, shared his stories of human survival amid adversity as he returned to Vietnam for the televised gala “Toa sang nghi luc Viet” (Shining Vietnamese Will ) in Hanoi on May 24, inspiring audiences nationwide to follow suit.
“All of you may be a miracle to your surrounding people. You can pass on mutual love and inspiration,” Nick said to the Vietnamese people.
This year’s event was co-hosted by the Vietnam Youth Federation, Vietnam Television, Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper and the Ton Hoa Sen Group, with a view to honouring outstanding examples of people overcoming hardships to contribute to the community.
Twenty-one winners of a writing contest themed “Examples of tremendous spirit” were also honoured.
Ton Hoa Sen Group presented gifts worth 30 million VND (1,400 USD) each to 21 outstanding individuals and scholarships worth 10 million VND (470 USD) each to 10 underprivileged students to mark the occasion.-VNA
