Nine localities to respond to International Yoga Day 2017

The International Yoga Day in Vietnam 2017, the third of its kind held in Vietnam, will take place from June 17 in nine cities and provinces nationwide, according to Indian Ambassador in Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish.

Hanoi (VNA) – The International Yoga Day in Vietnam 2017, the third of itskind held in Vietnam, will take place from June 17 in nine cities and provincesnationwide, according to Indian Ambassador in Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish.

Theprogramme is part of the Vietnam-India Friendship Year 2017 to mark the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam-India diplomatic ties and 10 years of the strategicpartnership.

Theevent will start in Hanoi on June 17 at the Ly Thai To Statue area where about1,000 people will practice Yoga at the same time in two hours.

Theevent will then take place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 25 with theparticipation of about 2,000 Yoga lovers, while it will be responded by otherseven cities and provinces, Vinh Phuc, Vinh, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Long An, DongNai and Can Tho from June 17 to July 2.

Accordingto Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, on December 11, 2014, the UN GeneralAssembly chose June 21 as International Yoga Day following the proposal ofIndian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thediplomat also showed impression at Vietnamese people’s interest and love forYoga, as well as the active support of the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism, and the People’s Committee of Hanoi.

Onthe occasion, a Yoga book published by the Indian Government will be introducedand presented to participants to the event.-VNA

Vietnamese, Chinese border guards coordinate to promote legal awareness among residents

During the four-day programme, thousands of leaflets were distributed, covering topics such as border management agreements and protocols, the agreement on regulations for management of the Vietnam–China land border, immigration and customs laws, border gate management, and measures to combat smuggling and trade fraud, as well as the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and border security.

Breeding cows presented to poor households along Vietnam–Cambodia border

Accordingly, leaders of the Border Guard High Command and Tay Ninh province of Vietnam, and Svay Teap district in Svay Rieng province of Cambodia presented 20 breeding cows, valued at 20 million VND (760 USD) each, to 20 households - 10 in Long Thuan commune (Tay Ninh) and 10 in Monorom commune of Svay Teap district.

Tuyen Quang works hard to maximise state revenue in 2025

Tuyen Quang’s state budget revenue was estimated at more than 5.55 trillion VND (210.8 million USD) in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching 91% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister and 62.5% of the plan set by the provincial People’s Committee.
