No COVID-19 infections logged on March 4 morning

Vietnam documented no COVID-19 cases in the past 12 hours to 6:00 am on March 4, keeping the national tally unchanged at 2,482 patients with 1,566 domestically-transmitted cases, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam documented no COVID-19 cases in the past 12hours to 6:00 am on March 4, keeping the national tally unchanged at 2,482patients with 1,566 domestically-transmitted cases, according to the NationalSteering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The country has 51,572 people who came in close contact with COVID-19 patientsor arrived from pandemic-hit areas under quarantine nationwide, including 533at hospitals, 13,776 at other quarantine sites, and 37,263 at home.

Among the patients under treatment, 66 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2once, 37 twice, and 113 thrice.

The Treatment Sub-committee said that 1,898 patients have been declared clearof the coronavirus so far.

In a bid to live safely with the pandemic, people shouldstrictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khukhuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) andkhai bao y te (health declaration)./.

The cooperation will also support Vietnam in strengthening its healthcare capacity and gradually enhancing self-reliance in HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and control programmes, as well as in responding to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

Vietnam will launch nationwide screening for five groups of school-related diseases and health conditions among students from preschool through high school from 2028, including overweight and obesity, refractive errors, spinal curvature, oral diseases and mental health disorders.

Free health checkups for children ahead of new school year

According to the Hanoi Department of Health, the city has 4,776 educational institutions with more than 2.2 million preschool and school students. The health campaign will run from August 18 to September 4, targeting 100% coverage before the new school year begins.

Hanoi steps up dengue prevention as cases rise

According to the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control (CDC), 316 dengue cases were recorded across 74 communes and wards in the city from August 7-14, up 81 from the previous week. Eleven new outbreaks were also reported, bringing the total number since the beginning of 2026 to 63, with 24 still active.
