Hanoi (VNA) – As of 18:00 on May 6, Vietnam had recorded no new COVID-19 cases, making it the 20th straight day without new infections within the community, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The national count stands still at 271, including 131 imported cases who were quarantined upon arrival, the committee said.
As many as 34,097 are under quarantine or health monitoring, of whom 245 stay at concentrated facilities in hospitals, 10,293 at other quarantine facilities and 23,559 at home and accommodations.
The committee’s treatment subcommittee reported that 232 patients have recovered or been discharged from hospital so far, while the remainder are being treated at centrally-run and provincial medical facilities, most of them now in stable conditions.
To date, 16 patients tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, and six twice or more./.
ASEAN seeking solutions for regional economic recovery
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, on behalf of ASEAN Economic Ministers, held a phone discussion with Secretary-General of ASEAN Lim Jock Hoi on May 6 regarding plans for recovering the regional economy and maintaining intra-bloc supply chains after the COVID-19 pandemic has been brought under control.
