Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam did not record any new COVID-19 infections on May 11, whichis also the 25th straight day without new cases in the community,while 86 percent of all patients have recovered from the disease, the nationalsteering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control said on May 11 evening.
Amongthe 288 confirmed cases so far, 148 are imported ones and were quarantined upontheir arrival in the country, and the remaining 140 contracted the coronavirus inthe community.
Onthe day, eight patients treated at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for TropicalDiseases No. 2 were given the all-clear, adding up to the 249 recoveries in thecountry.
Ofthe 39 remainders still under treatment, eight have tested negative forSARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, once while 11 others negative atleast twice.
Thereare 25,361 people kept in quarantine at present, including 373 at hospitals,11,181 at other quarantine facilities, and the rest at home./.
