Hanoi (VNA) - No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Vietnam on June 2, the 47th straight day without community infections, while the number of patients that have recovered stood at 91 percent on the afternoon of the same day, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said.

Of the 328 confirmed cases so far, 188 were imported and patients were placed in quarantine upon arrival.

Five patients were declared to have recovered from the disease on June 2 - one at the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and four at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

There are 298, or 91 percent of patients, now free of the coronavirus, with no deaths. 

The remaining 30 are undergoing treatment at provincial and central hospitals nationwide and are in a stable condition. Five have tested negative for the virus once and five at least twice.

Meanwhile, 8,333 people are currently in quarantine, including 73 in hospitals, 7,223 in other quarantine facilities, and 1,037 at home./.
