Noi Bai airport secures Airport Health Accreditation certificate

Hanoi (VNA) -
Noi Bai internationalairport in Hanoi has been granted with the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA)certificate by the Airports Council International (ACI).

The AHA programme enables airports to demonstrate topassengers, staff, regulators, and governments that they are prioritizinghealth and safety in a measurable, established manner.

In order to receive the certificate, Noi Bai had toundergo a strict assessment of health safety measures at the airport, includingcleaning and disinfection procedures, physical distancing, staff protection,physical layout, passenger communications, and passenger facilities.

ACI General Director Luis Felipe de Oliveira said NoiBai provides safe airport experience for all passengers in line with ACIAviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines, and recommendations by theInternational Civil Aviation Organisation - ICAO Council Aviation Restart TaskForce.

Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi MinhCity and another international airport in the central city of Da Nang are alsobeing considered for the accreditation.

Nguyen Duc Hung, Deputy General Director of theAirports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and Director of Noi Bai InternationalAirport, attributed the result to all-out efforts by the airport’s staffmembers in response to COVID-19, helping passengers feel secure while usingservices at the airport.

ACI is the only global trade representative of the world’sairports. Established in 1991, ACI represents airports interests withGovernments and international organisations such as ICAO, develops standards,policies and recommended practices for airports, and provides information andtraining opportunities to raise standards around the world. /.

WHO donates 9,000 rabies vaccine doses to Vietnam’s high-risk provinces

The post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) vaccines, valued at 100,000 USD, were delivered to the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) in the two provinces through coordination with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), the Ministry of Health, and local authorities. The donation was made possible with financial support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Facing the World to host ENT surgery conference in Hanoi

To be held at 108 Military Central Hospital and Hong Ngoc General Hospital on October 18-19 respectively, the conference “Facing the functional, oncological and aesthetic challenges within the head and neck” will be attended by British and Vietnamese doctors specialising in ENT (ear, nose and throat) and head-neck surgery, plastic and aesthetic surgery, oncology and maxillofacial surgery.
