Illustrative image (Photo: vnexpress) Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) - The body of anothervictim of the landslides that hit the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant in thecentral province of Thua Thien-Hue was found on October 16, raising the death tollfrom the incident to two.
The victims are among 17 workers buried by a landslideon a construction site near the hydropower plant.
The victim is now being identified. The location ofthe body has helped rescuers determine where the remaining workers may be.
The first victim was found onOctober 14. Fifteen others are still listed as missing.
About 40 workers safely moved to the Rao Trang 4 plant,which was reached on the evening of October 13 by a team from the provincialpolice.
On the morning of October 16, aworking team from central agencies, led by Politburo member, member of theParty Central Committee’s Secretariat, and head of the Party Central Committee,Pham Minh Chinh, arrived at Phong Xuan commune in Phong Dien district, todirect search and rescue efforts.
On October 16, the Party CentralCommittee’s Secretariat sent a dispatch to Party Committees in cities and provincesand central agencies calling for stronger efforts in natural disasterprevention and response and in overcoming the aftermath of floods in thecentral region./.
