Organisations, firms join hands in fight against COVID-19

Organisations and businesses nationwide have provided financial assistance for Vietnam’s fight against the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

Hanoi (VNA) – Organisations andbusinesses nationwide have provided financial assistance for Vietnam’s fightagainst the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2(COVID-19).

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV)presented a donation worth 3 billion VND (over 128,500 USD) to the VietnamFatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on March 21.

To ease difficulties of businesses andairlines affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, the ACV had reduced service fees at21 airports across the country.

On March 20, the VFF Central Committeereceived 10 billion VND from the Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading JointStock Company to support the COVID-19 combat.

The company also presented an additional 10billion VND to help people overcome losses caused by drought and salineintrusion in the southern region.

The same day, the State Capital InvestmentCorporation (SCIC) presented 2 billion VND to the VFF Central Committee.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU)of the SCIC previously joined hands with Vinh Phuc province’s HCYU and RedCross Society to hand over 3,000 face masks and 120 bottles of hand sanitiserto residents of Son Loi commune of the province’s Binh Xuyen district.

The FrieslandCampina dairy products companyoffered 1 billion VND in cash and commodities worth 1 billion VND.

The Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry ofConstruction presented 300 million VND each to the VFF Central Committee toback the fight against the epidemic.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam National PetroleumGroup (Petrolimex) handed over 3 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front ofHanoi to purchase medical equipment to serve the COVID-19 pandemic combat./.

Resettlement, site clearance for Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear plant gets underway

According to the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, the resettlement and site clearance project carries a total investment of about 6.7 trillion VND (about 255 million USD). Of the total, approximately 5.28 trillion VND is earmarked for compensation and site clearance, around 1.15 trillion VND for construction and equipment, and nearly 287 billion VND for project management, consultancy, other expenses and contingencies.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch first international direct flight on March 29

From March 29, passengers will be able to fly non-stop between Phu Quoc (Vietnam) and Taipei (Taiwan, China) on Sun PhuQuoc Airways.
