Secretary of the Party Central Committee Pham Minh Chinh (L) and Osaka's Governor Ichiro Matsui (Source: VNA) At meetings with Osaka's GovernorIchiro Matsui and President of the Osaka Prefectural People’s Council Imai Otaka on November 29 aspart of his ongoing working visit to Japan, the Vietnamese officialproposed stronger links between the Japanese locality and Vietnam insocial security, especially in the latter's disadvantaged and remote areas.
Chinh, who is also Head of the PartyCentral Committee’s Organisation Commission, appreciated recent fruitfulcooperation between Japan and Vietnam, expressing his hope that Japan andOsaka will continue working closely and effectively with Vietnam in the timeahead.
He briefed the hosts on Vietnam’ssocio-economic development and administrative reform, and thanked Osaka’sauthorities for their support and assistance to facilitate overseasVietnamese living and working in the locality.
He said he hopes the Japanese locality’s leaders will exert effort to furtherfoster people-to-people exchange with Vietnamese localities and help trainVietnamese civil servants in authority management.
Osaka’s leaders highlighted effective cooperation in all fields between theprefecture and Vietnam in recent time, especially the exchange of visits, linksin investment, trade and tourism, education-training.
They said Osaka and Vietnam boastgreat potential to foster cooperation in economy, investment, trade andtourism, asking the two sides to pay special attention to further pushing linksin these fields in the future.
During his stay in Osaka, Chinh had working sessions with representatives fromthe Asia Pacific Institute of Research and the Japan-Vietnam FriendshipAssociation in Kansai region, the Japan External Trade Organisation in Osaka,and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also met withrepresentatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General and the Vietnamesecommunity in Osaka.
The Vietnamese official will continue his trip to Tokyo on November 30-December4.-VNA
