The Red Cross of Ho Chi Minh City has presented gifts worth 1.25 billion VND in total to overseas Vietnamese (OV) in Cambodia , in the lead up to the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
The gifts, including goods and cash, were granted to 2,500 OV families in the capital city of Phnom Penh and in the provinces of Pray Veng, Pursat, Siem Reap.
Speaking at a presentation ceremony in Phnom Penh on Dec. 29, President of the HCM City Red Cross Nguyen Thi Hue said this was the seventh consecutive year the society has offered gifts to OV in Cambodia to help them enjoy Tet.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese delegation also presented gifts to poor Cambodians in these localities and donated 50,000 USD to the Cambodian Red Cross./.
