OV in France, domestic agencies boost ties

A meeting to promote cooperation between the Vietnam Association of Science and Experts in France (AVSE) with concerned agencies at home has been organised in Paris.
A meeting to promote cooperation between the Vietnam Association ofScience and Experts in France (AVSE) with concerned agencies at home hasbeen organised in Paris.

Hosted by AVSE, anorganisation of Vietnamese intellectuals, the meeting summarised theassociation’s activities in 2011 and discussed several plans foractivities this year.

It also reviewed the workingresults between AVSE and Vietnam Union of Science and TechnologyAssociations (VUSTA), the Ministry of Science and Technology andMinistry of Education and Training, in order to deliberate on a futureorientation for cooperation between the agencies.

Participants gathered in a round-table meeting, themed “Mathematicsdevelopment in Vietnam ” with a presentation by Ngo Dac Tuan, ViceChairman of AVSE.

During the meeting, participantsalso discussed a number of activities in the fields of telecoms, IT andcommunications in Vietnam , plans to organise workshops on nuclearpower and preparations for the launch of an economic magazine from AVSE.

AVSE plans to organise an event called “Journéedoctorale” for Vietnamese and foreign postgraduates, who have commonconcerns at Cachan university (Escole Normale Supérieure de Cachan) inJune.

This event is scheduled to focus ondiscussion of many subjects in the fields of natural sciences, socialsciences, humanities and applied sciences.-VNA
