The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on Jan. 15 hosted a get-together for overseas Vietnamese (OV) returning home to celebrate the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).


President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Huynh Dam, officials from the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, welcomed OV from countries around the world and wished them a healthy, successful and peaceful New Year.


Dam briefed the country’s remarkable socio-economic achievements and major political events in the past year, which, he said, were partially contributed by Vietnamese nationals abroad.


He stressed that the OV community is an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, affirming that the Party and State always attach much importance to protecting their rights.


Dam also expressed his belief that OV around the world will try their best in study and production, contributing to the development of their resident countries as well as the home country./.
