Over 2,400 houses to be built for the poor in Nghe An’s border communes

The Ministry of Public Security and the authorities of Nghe An jointly held a ceremony on March 22 to hand over model houses and funding for the construction of more than 2,400 homes for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the central province.

Nghe An (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Securityand the authorities of Nghe An jointly held a ceremonyon March 22 to hand over model houses and funding for the construction of more than 2,400homes for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the central province.

Responding to a programme on housing supportfor the poor and people with housing difficulty in NgheAn province in the 2023-2025 period and implementing the provincial Police’s projecton building drug-free border communes, the Ministry of Public Security decidedto build 1,420 houses for poor households in 27 border communes.

Meanwhile, the provincial Police raised funds to build 1,000houses in the three border districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public SecuritySen. Lieut. Gen. Luong Tam Quang said that by implementing the policies ofthe Party, State, and government, the ministry has focused on takingcare of and improving the quality of life of the poor and disadvantaged peoplethroughout the country.

To date, the ministry has offered support to build more than10,000 houses and boarding schools in the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, CaoBang, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, Lang Son, and Hoa Binh.

Thai Thanh Quy, Secretary of the provincial PartyCommittee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and head of the province’sSteering Committee for mobilising support to build houses for the poor anddisadvantaged people, said 118 agencies and units inside and outside the province have committed over 521 billion VND (22.15 million USD) in support for building houses for the poor./.

Memorial, reburial service held for 80 martyrs repatriated from Laos
