Vietnamese embassies and overseas Vietnamese in many countries held activities to celebrate the national traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.

On Feb. 4, the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese Association in Mongolia jointly held a get-together with the attendance of over 160 overseas Vietnamese.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Hoang Tuan Thinh highlighted Vietnam ’s socio-economic achievements over the past year, especially the success of the 11 th National Party Congress. He also spoke highly of the two countries’ relationship and overseas Vietnamese activities in efforts to help disadvantaged people in the country’s central flood-hit provinces.

On Feb. 5, the Vietnamese Charity Association in Berlin , the capital city of Germany , held a get-together with diversified traditional music performances. In the past year, the association actively supported disabled Vietnamese children as well as Agent Orange victims.

On the same day, overseas Vietnamese students from the Catholic University of Leuven, one of the most well-known universities in Belgium , gave a music performance called “Love Spring” to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

On Feb. 6, a similar meeting was jointly held by the Red River Association and overseas Vietnamese enterprises in Potsdam , Germany. /.
