Beijing (VNA) - As Vietnam and China are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations and commemorating the Year of Vietnam - China Humanistic Exchange, Vietnamese expatriates in China have expressed their hope for more intensive and substantive relations that bring tangible benefits to enterprises and communities of both sides.
Vu Hoang Thanh Loan, Director of Lacina international import-export firm in China, highlighted the historical significance of late General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China in 2022 and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping's Vietnam visit in 2023. These diplomatic milestones elevated the bilateral relations to a new high, helping bolster regular high-level exchanges and intensify trade cooperation between the two countries.
Pham Thi Kim Dung, General Director of Beijing Hua Pham trading joint stock company, emphasised the strengthened political and diplomatic bonds between Vietnam and China. She noted the increasing frequency of high-level visits and growing people-to-people connections have contributed to deepening the bilateral ties.
Dung pointed out the substantial untapped potential in bilateral trade, with Chinese businesses showing keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Vietnam, while high-quality Vietnamese products having gained popularity among Chinese consumers.
She said she hopes for further exchange activities between the two sides, opening up opportunities for businesses and people to promote cooperation and get a better insight into each other’s land and culture. The initiatives have an important role to play in nurturing the Vietnam – China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership as well as building a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Loan laid stress on the crucial role of humanistic exchange in the Vietnam-China relations. Despite ups and downs over the past 75 years, the bilateral ties have been built on the shared values of tolerance, friendliness, and hospitality. She suggested strengthening cultural exchange activities during traditional festivals, organising art performances, traditional costume shows, and cultural exploration programmes for the youths to foster mutual understanding and friendship./.
