Sixteen children winning in a painting contest, themed “Air pollution” were honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on September 27.
The first prize went to Nguyen Chau Hai My from Loc Tri No.1 primary school in Phu Loc district, central province of Thua Thien-Hue while the two second prizes were presented to Nguyen Van Nhi from Nguyen Du school and Dao Thuy Dung from Phuc Dong school in Hanoi . There were also three third prizes and other 10 consolation ones.
The contest, launched in April this year by the Centre for Environmental Education (ENV), Boo fashion company and Green Globe Co., Ltd, attracted the participation of 355 entrants across the country.
It was aimed at encouraging children to share their views on the quality of air and air pollution issues, thus, helping raise their awareness of environmental protection./.
