Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on January 22 conveyed his warmest greetings and congratulations to Bounnhang Vorachith on his election as Party General Secretary of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) for the 10th tenure.

The Vietnamese leader expressed his belief that under the LPRP leadership led by the Party chief, the Lao people will continue harvesting new and greater achievements during the renewal period, successfully realising the Resolution set by the 10 th National Party Congress and building a country of peace, independence, democracy, unity and prosperity towards socialist goals.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam will do their best to foster and deepen the Vietnam – Laos special solidarity in a practical and effective manner in all fields, for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, he affirmed.

“May the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos be everlasting”, General Secretary Trong said. He wished the Lao Party chief health, happiness and success in his new position.-VNA
