Vietnam sends greetings to Laos’ 10th National Party Congress

The Central Committee of the CPV has sent warmest regards and wishes of successes to the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the occasion of the 10th National Party Congress of the LPRP.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CC CPV) has sent warmest regards and wishes of successes to all members of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and people of Laos on the occasion of the 10th National Party Congress of the LPRP.

The congress will take place in the capital of Vientiane from January 18-22.

In its congratulatory message, the CC CPV reviewed achievements that Laos has gained over the last 40 years under the leadership of the LPRP and reiterated the friendship and fraternity of the two countries as well as the two parties.

“The Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Suphanuvon and nurtured by generations of Party and State leaders and people of both countries, have become invaluable assets of the two nations. The ties are the cornerstone for the existence and development of each nation which provide important resources for each nation’s cause of defending national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and socialism building,” the message wrote.

The CC CPV took the occasion to express sincere thanks to the Lao Party, State and people for their great and valuable help to Vietnam.

The LPRP’s 10th National Party Congress is an important political event of Laos, marking a new stage of the country’s revolution, the message said.

During the five-day event, delegates at Laos Party Congress will study and pass the Party Central Committee’s political report and the socio-economic development plan for 2016-2020, aiming to help the country escape underdevelopment by 2020 and to increase the growth of the country’s gross domestic product to over 7.5 percent a year.-VNA
