Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh asked the Party Central Committee Office’s staff to join hands to accomplish the targets and plans set out for 2010 by the Party Central Committee and its Political Bureau and Secretariat.

The Party leader made the request during a meeting with staff members in Hanoi on Feb. 10 on the threshold of the Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

Former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, and Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang attended the function.

Manh praised the office’s achievements during 2009 in terms of providing consultancy and assistance to the Party Central Committee, the Political Bureau and the Secretariat in leading and instructing the country’s socio-economic development.

He said in 2010, the country will witness many important events, especially the 1,000 th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 11 th National Party Congress.

As an advisor for the Party Central Committee, the Political Bureau and the Secretariat, the office plays an important role in fulfilling the nation’s socio-economic development and the targets of the 10 th Party Congress, as well as successfully organising the upcoming congresses, he said.

On the same day, member of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee To Huy Rua paid a Tet visit to outstanding intellectuals and artists and Deputy National Assembly Chairman Uong Chu Luu visited the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy, wishing their staff a happy new year./.
