Party Congress: New Politburo announced

The new Politburo, Party General Secretary, Central Committee’s Secretariat and Central Committee’s Commission of Inspection were announced at the 12th National Party Congress's closing session.

Hanoi (VNA) – The new Politburo, Party General Secretary, Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Central Committee’s Commission of Inspection in the 12th tenure as elected at the first plenum of the 12th Central Committee were announced at the closing session of the 12th National Party Congress in Hanoi on January 28.

On behalf of the Congress’ Presidium, Dinh The Huynh affirmed that the Central Committee reached high unanimity on the number of members of the 12th Politburo, which comprises of 19 members. They are:

The Party Central Committee unanimously re-elected Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the 11th Party Central Committee as General Secretary of the 12th Party Central Committee.

The Party Central Committee assigned the Politburo to appoint a number of Politburo members to the Central Committee’s Secretariat . The committee elected three cadres to the secretariat, who are:

Head of the Committee's Commission for Policies and Strategies Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed appreciation for the RANEPA and its predecessor institutions for their contributions to training and fostering Vietnamese officials. NA President concludes official visit to Republic of Korea

During his stay, NA President Man held a meeting with Prime Minister Han Seong Sook and talks with NA Speaker Cho Jeong Sik. At the meetings, the two sides spoke highly of the positive development of Vietnam-RoK relations, particularly regular exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones. Top Vietnamese leader To Lam proposed that the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Russia continue to play their role in improving a favourable legal framework for bilateral cooperation; and strengthen oversight of and urge the implementation of agreements reached by the senior leaders and Governments of the two countries, thereby helping translate political commitments into concrete programmes, projects and cooperation outcomes.
