The productive coordination between Vietnamese and Laos relevant ministries and sectors helped realise high-level bilateral agreements in 2014 efficiently, said Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong while receiving Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath in Hanoi on January 22.
The reception took place during a Lao high-ranking delegation’s visit to Vietnam for the 37th meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee for bilateral cooperation that was held in the capital on January 21.
At the meeting, Lao Deputy PM Somsavad Lengsavath briefed his host on agreements reached at the meeting. He continued to state his country, government, and people will continue to foster the traditional special solidarity with Vietnam.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highlighted the achievements that the two countries’ cooperation has obtained thus far.
He said the visit significantly contributed to cementing and stepping up the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Looking forward, both sides need to collaborate further, seeking new policies and frameworks relevant to the continually developing status of their bilateral ties, he said.-VNA
