HCM City (VNA) - Head of the Party Central Committee’sCommission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai on April 10 extended greetingsto Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers in Ho Chi Minh City on theupcoming Easter holiday.

During her visit to Archbishop of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese Bui Van Doc, and Pastor Phan Vinh Cu, President ofthe General Confederation of Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (Southern), theofficial reiterated the consistent policy of the Party and State to respect andensure the legitimate right to freedom of belief and religion.

She recognised and praised the role of Archbishop Bui Van Doc in calling on anddirecting local parishioners to work closely with the municipal authorities, andpeople from all walks of life to promote the city’s socio-economic development.

She expressed her hope that the Archdiocese along with other Catholicdignitaries and followers will continue participating in patriotic movements, thusactively contributing to the nation’s development.

Archbishop Bui Van Doc promised to continuously encourage parishioners to abideby legal regulations, and join hands in consolidating the national great unitybloc.

Meanwhile, Pastor Phan Vinh Cu thanked the Party and State for facilitating theformation of local chapters of the confederation, affirming local Protestants willwork hard to make more contributions to the national construction and defencecause.-VNA
