Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission and Chairman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group (VJFPG) Pham Minh Chinh met visiting Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide on October 19.
Chinh thanked and lauded the Japanese PM’s choosing Vietnam as his first overseas destination after taking office, and said this proves he attaches importance to bilateral extensive strategic partnership.
The official affirmed that Vietnam treasures the extensive strategic partnership with Japan, and said he believed that the visit will contribute to further reinforcing Vietnam – Japan ties.
Suga, for his part, stressed that Japan wants to further strengthen extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia with Vietnam.
He spoke highly of the effective activities by the VJFPG and the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVFPA) which contribute to fostering exchanges between parliamentarians and raising trust and mutual understanding between both sides.
They vowed to continue stepping up cooperative ties between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, and enhance coordination between the two nations’ parliamentarians, especially young and female ones.
Chinh also proposed Japan continue assisting Vietnam in economic development and personnel training.
Japan will continue actively partnering with Vietnam in various fields, supporting the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group and the JVFPA, contributing to the common development of the bilateral extensive strategic partnership,, the Japanese guest affirmed./.
