Permanent members of the Government looked into major transport projects during their meeting in Hanoi on September 12, which was chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

– Permanent members of the Government looked into majortransport projects during their meeting in Hanoi on September 12, which waschaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the need to ensure the smoothoperation and safety of the transport system, and urged the sector to pay moreattention to handling relevant procedures and bottlenecks.

It is a must to well implement projects and programmes, especially expresswayand airport ones, he said.

PM Phuc asked the Ministry of Transport to identify responsibility of agenciesin these transport projects and programmes, and encourage the involvement ofthe private sector in some spheres.

Regarding Tan Son Nhat International Airport, he said the ministry needs topublicise relevant infrastructure projects in order to mobilise resources moreeffectively.

He requested the ministry to address issues hindering the implementation of theurban railway project in Hanoi, and soon put the Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevatedrailway into operation.

The PM stressed the implementation of non-stop fee collection atbuild-operation-transfer (BOT) tollgates with the deadline of December 31,2019./.
