– Personnelmatter will be a focus at the National Assembly on October 24, the fourthworking day of the NA’s 6th session.

At the beginning of the morning session, theNA will hear a report on the outcome of group discussions on the appointment ofa new Minister of Information and Communication.

The day before, the NA approved through voting the removal of Truong Minh Tuan from the post of Minister of Information and Communication and passed a resolution on the removal.

The NA will then cast their voteon the appointment of the new minister. A resolution on the NA’s approval of the appointment isexpected to be passed after the announcement of the result of vote counting.

In the afternoon, the NA will heara draft list of officials to be subject to the vote of confidence. Deputieswill vote to approve the list, and then discuss in groups issues related to thevote of confidence, which is expected to be carried out on October 25.- VNA

Legislators on November 17 discussed a draft Resolution on special mechanisms and policies to implement Politburo Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training; and another on mechanisms and policies to effectively implement Politburo Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on enhancing the protection, care and improvement of public health.

Draft documents for 14th National Party Congress: Leveraging “soft power” in new era

Studying the draft documents, local officials, entrepreneurs, scientists and residents agreed with the six key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs proposed. However, many suggested that the documents should place greater emphasis on removing bottlenecks and unlocking available resources; accelerating decentralisation and delegation of authority; and enhancing autonomy and accountability of localities, alongside building high-quality human resources.
