Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam National Petroleum Group(Petrolimex) and Myanmar’s HTOO Group of Companies have recently signed a dealin Hanoi, under which they will explore the possibility of jointly doingbusiness in Myanmar.

Petrolimex Chairman Bui Ngoc Bao hailed Myanmar as apromising oil and gas market and a golden land for investors in the region.

He expressed belief that the bilateral cooperation willthrive, especially in fields of Petrolimex’s strength such as oil and gas,petrochemicals, refinery, construction, and supply of oil and gas facilities.

In the near future, Petrolimex and its member companies willsend teams to Myanmar to study the market and local laws to outline specific businessplans.

HTOO General Director Pye Phyo Tay Za wished that the dealwould open up a new period for bilateral ties.

The project aims to effectively tap the area’s natural landscapes, geographical advantages and distinctive historical value, while creating a high-quality tourism product with strong competitiveness. It is also intended to preserve, honour and promote the value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory special national historical relic site.
