Hanoi (VNA) - A photo competition celebrating the city’s culture and tourism, entitled Hoi An – Untold Stories, has been organised by the People’s Committee in cooperation with Golden Sand Resort & Spa.

On the 41st anniversary of the liberation of Hoi An, the photo competition was designed to showcase the city’s beauty, people, culture and tourism for the benefit of local residents and foreign tourists.

The top prize, worth 15 million VND (750 USD), went to Nguyen Quynh Anh. Le Huy Tuan and Ngo Viet Khanh Huy were first and second runners-up with a cash prize of 10 million VND and 5 million VND, respectively.

The three finalists were asked to stay in Hoi An and discover the city through their lens over two days. They then submitted the photos to the organisers, who picked the winner and runners up.

The jury consisted of gallerists, photo editors, art collectors and leading photographers, including photographer Na Son, photojournalist Nguyen Hoang Ha, and Nguyen Van Lanh, head of Hoi An City’s Culture and Information Office.

The organising board received more than 2,000 entries sent by 220 Vietnamese and foreign photographers.
