Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese piano prodigy, Luu Hong Quang, will perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from the UK at the 2017 Toyota Classics Concert in Hanoi Opera House on November 4.
The concert, namely “Truly Classics”, will feature performances of famous pianist David Juritz and talented conductor Anthony Weeden, both of the UK.
Luu Hong Quang is expected to enthrall the Hanoians with Mozart’s piano concerto No.9 and K721 piece.
Quang, born in 1990, won the excellent prize in the 7th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia in Tokyo, Japan when he was 16.
In 2014, he was offered a full scholarship to pursue his postgraduate in piano performance at the Faculty of Music, University of Montreal, Canada.
Under the guidance of his master pianist and teacher – Dang Thai Son, Quang attained his master degree in Montreal. Prior to that, he had the great honour of being the first Vietnamese of the young generations to perform together with Dang Thai Son in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in December 2013.
Quang is currently a principal study and ensemble lecturer at the Academy of Music & Performing Arts in Sydney, Australia.
All money earned from the concert’s ticket sales will be donated to Toyota Scholarship for young music talents in Vietnam.-VNA
