PM bids farewell to Chilean Ambassador

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung spoke highly of the contributions Chilean Ambassador to Vietnam Ferrnando Jose Urrutia has made to consolidating and boosting the comprehensive ties between the two countries during his tenure.

Receiving the outgoing ambassador inHanoi on December 9, the host expressed his pleasure with thedeveloping bilateral relationship in all fields, especially since theVietnam-Chile Free Trade Agreement was signed.

PM Nguyen Tan Dungunderscored that Vietnam will join Chile’s efforts to enhance bilateralcollaboration, adding that the two countries should support each otherat international forums and increase high-level visits.

He also urged Chile to support Vietnam in negotiation for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

ThePM expressed his wish that at any capacity, the diplomat will continuecontributing to developing Vietnam-Chile ties, particularly in economy,trade, investment and education and training in the time ahead.
For his part, the Chilean ambassador thanked the VietnameseGovernment, ministries, agencies and localities for helping him fulfillhis mission.

He affirmed that the bilateral FTA is a new milestone in fostering trade between the two countries.
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham BinhMinh received Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Khalid IbrahimAbdulaziz Shohail Al-Qahtani while General Phung Quang Thanh, Ministerof National Defence, met with outgoing Russian Ambassador Andrei Kovtun.-VNA

The two leaders affirmed that both countries consistently attach the highest priority to preserving and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos, describing the relationship as a special bond between the two Parties, States and people and a foundation for jointly creating and sharing development opportunities.

NA Vice President holds bilateral meetings on sidelines of IPU-153

Dien thanked her and the Parliament of Tanzania for hosting IPU-153 and acknowledging her contributions during her tenure as IPU President. He asked Ackson, as former President of the Tanzanian Parliament, to help promote economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and Tanzania, matching the two countries’ strong political relations.
