PM delighted at upcoming Vietnam – Czech Republic air route

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucexpressed his delight at the Czech Republic’s plan to launch a direct air routebetween Prague and Hanoi, during a reception on October 1 for visiting DeputyPrime Minister and Minister of the Interior Jan Hamacek.

PM Phuc suggested that the two countries work closelytogether to celebrate the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomaticties next year.

He believed that the Vietnamese community in the Europeancountry will make further contributions to bilateral ties, and proposed thatthe Czech Republic create favourable conditions to grant visas to Vietnamesecitizens for travel, study and working.

The host thanked the Czech Republic for accelerating thesigning of the European Union – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU– Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) in June.

He called on the country to soon ratify the EVIPA and carryforward the European Parliament’s early ratification of the EVFTA, contributingto deepening the Vietnam – EU comprehensive partnership and the Vietnam – CzechRepublic economic, trade and investment ties.

The government leader thanked Czech Republic for supportingVietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council forthe 2020 – 2021 tenure

Vietnam highly values and hopes the Czech Republic tocontinue supporting the maintenance of peace, stability and security in theEast Sea as well as ASEAN’s common stance on the settlement of disputes bypeaceful means in line with international law, especially the 1982 UNConvention on the Law of the Sea, he said.

He affirmed that apart from traditional areas, Vietnam wantsto cooperate with the Czech Republic in the fields of human resources training,cyber security, crime prevention and control.

Hamacek, for his part, told the host that he and leaders ofthe Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security discussed important contents such aspromoting security protection, fighting drug crimes, illegal migration, andensuring cyber security.

The Czech delegation also held a working session with FLCGroup’s Bamboo Airways to debate the guarantee of security when it comes to openingdirect air route between the two countries.

The Czech Republic government welcomes and fully supports thelaunch of the route, thus contributing to boosting bilateral trade and culturalexchange, he said./.
