Relations between Vietnam and Japan are at the best of times based on stronger political trust, P rime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said.
The government leader made the remark on December 15 in Tokyo during his meeting with Vietnamese embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Japan .
He noted that Japan always supports Vietnam ’s development strategy as well as its stance on sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Japan has also been Vietnam’s largest official development assistance provider during the past two decades, while ranking first in the country’s foreign investors line-up with a total capital of about 35 billion USD.
Cooperation in defence, security, education and training is also on the rise, the leader said.
He urged the embassy staff to exert more efforts to further boost the friendship between the two countries in all realms, as well as mutual trust and understanding, while creating more chances for businesses of both sides to meet and partner.
The PM also asked the embassy and the Vietnamese community to act as a bridge linking Japan and Vietnam in all fields for the development of both countries.
Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung briefed Dung on the success recorded in the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year and bilateral ties which has made great strides in the fields of investment, labour and training.
The Vietnamese community has positively contributed to enhancing cross cultural exchanges and friendship between the two peoples, Hung said.
At the embassy, Dung witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents between agencies, enterprises and organisations.-VNA
