Relations between Vietnam and Japan are at the best of timesbased on stronger political trust, P rime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hassaid.
The government leader made the remark onDecember 15 in Tokyo during his meeting with Vietnamese embassy staffand the Vietnamese community in Japan .
He notedthat Japan always supports Vietnam ’s development strategy as wellas its stance on sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Japan has also been Vietnam’s largest official developmentassistance provider during the past two decades, while ranking first inthe country’s foreign investors line-up with a total capital of about 35billion USD.
Cooperation in defence, security, education and training is also on the rise, the leader said.
He urged the embassy staff to exert more efforts to further boost thefriendship between the two countries in all realms, as well as mutualtrust and understanding, while creating more chances for businesses ofboth sides to meet and partner.
The PM also askedthe embassy and the Vietnamese community to act as a bridge linkingJapan and Vietnam in all fields for the development of bothcountries.
Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung briefedDung on the success recorded in the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year andbilateral ties which has made great strides in the fields of investment,labour and training.
The Vietnamese community haspositively contributed to enhancing cross cultural exchanges andfriendship between the two peoples, Hung said.
At the embassy, Dung witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents between agencies, enterprises and organisations.-VNA
