PM hails contributions of OVs in Belarus

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has hailed the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Belarus to Vietnam-Belarus relations, saying that each of them is a bridge popularising Vietnam and its culture and people.

While meeting with embassy staff, representatives of the Belarus–Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnamese community in Belarus on May 17, Dung said he hopes the Vietnamese community will uphold the tradition of mutual support, maintain cultural identities, and contribute to strengthening the Vietnam–Belarus friendship.

He affirmed that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the nation, and an important resource for national development.

He also thanked the Belarusian side for its valuable support to Vietnam during its national liberation in the past as well as its current national construction and development.

The PM expressed his hope that the embassy staff will overcome challenges, offer quality advice to the Party and State to bolster all-around links with Belarus while fulfilling their economic, diplomatic, cultural and community assistance missions.-VNA
