Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc left for Davos, Switzerland on January 17 to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) that takes place from January 17 – 21.
The visit comes after an invitation of President of the WEF Klaus Schwab.
The PM is leading a high–ranking Vietnamese delegation including Minister-Chairman of the Government’s Office Mai Tien Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong; and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, among others.
Under the themed “Responsive and Responsible Leadership”, the meeting consists of 300 discussions on various matters, including improving global governance, responding to security instability and crisis, speeding up inclusive and sustainable growth, economic restructuring and social reform, and developing new industrial systems and business models in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.
The event draws attendance of leaders of numerous countries, international organisations and world-leading companies.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will hold various bilateral meetings with leaders of participating countries and development partners on the sidelines of the meeting.-VNA
