PM orders research on COVID-19 inoculation for children aged 3-5

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged the Ministry of Health to study the vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged between three and five.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged the Ministry of Health to studythe vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged between three and five.

The Government leader's request was detailed in a dispatchissued on March 19 by the Government Office regarding the purchase andinfection of vaccines and the promotion of domestic vaccine production.

The Prime Minister also asked the Health Ministry to directthe study of giving the fourth shot to adults and the third for children aged12-18, and have a plan to purchase more vaccines and step up domestic vaccine productionso as to ensure science, safety and efficiency./.

PM releases instructions as measles cases increase

Vietnam has recorded nearly 40,000 suspected measles cases and five measles-related deaths since the beginning of this year. The southern region reported the highest number of cases (57%), the central region accounted for 19.2%, the north 15.1%, and the Central Highlands 8.7%.
