Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid a working trip to Dam Thuy border station and Trung Khanh district in the northern border province of Cao Bang on November 15.

Leaders of Trung Khanh district and Dam Thuy border station reported local socio-economic performance and security, order to the PM, saying that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the local socio-economic situation has been stable, and ensuring social welfare has been promoted, along with the effective implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control. The border and rural security as well as solidarity and friendship with neighbouring China have been maintained.

Speaking at the working session, PM Chinh said with a number of scenic attractions, specialties and a 93km borderline with China, Trung Khanh has more competitive edges compared to other districts in the province.

He asked the district to focus on two key programmes and three breakthroughs, including programmes on human resources improvement and urban development in Trung Khanh and Tra Linh townships, and breakthroughs on sustainable tourism, services, fruit cultivation in combination with processing, and border economic development.

He asked Trung Khanh district to strictly implement the Government's Resolution No.128 on effective control of COVID-19, and remain vigilant against the pandemic.

He said he believes that with the revolutionary tradition and solidarity, the authorities and people of Trung Khanh will overcome all difficulties, striving to complete all tasks set in Resolution of the district's 20th Party Congress./.
