Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on May 1 for Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and a high-level delegation of the Japanese Government who are here for an official visit from April 30-May 1. ​

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted an officialwelcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on May 1 for JapanesePrime Minister Kishida Fumio and a high-level delegation of the JapaneseGovernment who are here for an officialvisit from April 30-May 1.

Following the ceremony, the two Government leaders plantedmemorial trees in the compound of the Government Office.

They then proceeded to the conference room to hold talks.

This is the first visit to Vietnam of Kishida six months since he took officeand five months after the official visit to Japan by PM Chinh.

The visit by the Japanese PM takes place whenthe Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership is developing robustly acrossthe fields. The two countries are actively preparing for activities marking the50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2023.

During the visit, besides holding talks with hisVietnamese counterpart, PM Kishida is scheduled to pay respect to President HoChi Minh at his mausoleum, make cordial visits to Party General SecretaryNguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and have a meeting withNational Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. He will also attend a conference onVietnam-Japan cooperation in industrial reform and digital transformation.

The visit is intended to deepen the Vietnam-Japan relations, promote theimplementation of the outcomes of PM Chinh’s visit to Japan, enhance politicaltrust between the two countries and the good relationship between the twogovernments in the motto of “Affection, Sincerity, Trust”, and intensifyresult-oriented partnerships in all aspects, meeting the interests andaspiration of the two peoples./.

Lithuanian President concludes official visit to Vietnam
